Where you can charge and work before boarding, and how to use the free Wi-Fi "FreeWiFi-NARITA".
In short
At Narita, the free Wi-Fi "FreeWiFi-NARITA" works in all areas of every terminal and on the terminal shuttle bus. There are free power outlet spaces at various places in the terminals, but their individual locations are not officially published. If you want to know where you are going before you move, a private work booth (booked in advance) or a card lounge is the sure option.
Who this is for
- People who want to work on a laptop or charge a phone before boarding or after arrival
- People who need a quiet space, for example for a video call
Your options
- Power outlet spaces (free): Provided at various places in the terminals. The official site does not publish individual locations, so look for them using the signs in the terminal
- Private work booths (membership registration and advance booking required): "Telecube" in Terminal 1, 7:00–22:00, and "STATION BOOTH" in Terminal 2, 7:00–21:30. They have power, free Wi-Fi and a monitor. Check each operator's website for locations and prices
- ChargeSPOT (mobile battery rental, paid): In the public area (before security) of every terminal, available 24 hours. Good when you want to charge while on the move instead of looking for a seat. You need the ChargeSPOT app or a supported payment app
- Card lounges: With an eligible card you can use power and Wi-Fi. There are the IASS Executive Lounges before security and the IASS Superior Lounges after passport control
- Airport Cafe NODOKA (Terminal 2, Main Building, 2F, open 24 hours): Power and Wi-Fi even late at night and early in the morning. It also has private work booths and meeting rooms
Using the Free Wi-Fi
- Turn on Wi-Fi in your device settings and choose "FreeWiFi-NARITA"
- On the connection page that appears automatically, agree to the terms of use and the security notice
Notes
- The free Wi-Fi does not use encryption such as WEP. The official site recommends using a VPN for anything that needs to be secure
- Depending on your device and how busy the network is, it may be slow or hard to connect
- Power outlet spaces may all be taken when it is busy. Please do not occupy one for a long time
- Rules on carrying power banks on board (for example, that they cannot go in checked baggage) may change. Check your airline's information before boarding
