Narita Airport Baggage Storage and Coin Locker Guide
Reliability: Medium · Last checked: 2026-08-06
Prices and hours of the coin lockers (per day and by time) and the staffed baggage storage counters, and which to use in each terminal.
Which to Choose
- Coin lockers — The cheapest option for normal-sized luggage, from a few hours to a few days. All lockers have touch panels and accept transport IC cards such as Suica. Up to 8 days (5 days for the extra-large lockers in Terminal 3)
- Staffed baggage storage (Terminals 1 and 2 only) — For large items that do not fit in a locker, and for storing clothing. The same counters also send and receive courier deliveries. All of Narita Airport's baggage storage counters are certified under the "Hands-Free Travel" scheme and can help you in English
Coin Locker Prices
- Per day (all of Terminal 1; Terminal 2 Main Building 2F and 3F): Small ¥400 / Medium ¥600 / Large ¥800. A day runs from when you start using the locker until midnight (0:00), so storing at 21:00 and collecting at 1:00 (next day) counts as 2 days
- By time (Terminal 2 Main Building B1F; Terminal 3 2F): Small ¥300 / Medium ¥500 / Large ¥600 for up to 6 hours; after 6 hours, Small ¥400 / Medium ¥600 / Large ¥800 is added for every 24 hours
- Extra-large (Terminal 3 2F only): 227 cm tall, for long items such as skis. ¥1,200 per 12 hours
For a short time, the time-based lockers are cheaper; for a whole day or more, the per-day lockers are cheaper.
Staffed Counter Hours
- JAL ABC: The counters on the departure floors (Terminal 1 4F, Terminal 2 3F) are open 7:00–21:00, and those on the arrival floors (Terminal 1 1F, Terminal 2 1F) from 6:30 until 1 hour after the last flight arrives. The arrival-floor counters are the ones open from early morning until late at night
- Narita International Airport Promotion Association (Terminal 2 3F, north side of the departure lobby): 6:30–22:00. Its prices are published: small (three sides totaling up to 115 cm) ¥500, regular (up to 160 cm) ¥700, large (161 cm or more) ¥1,100 (each per 1 calendar day per use, paid on collection). It also stores clothing
- There are also Sagawa Express counters on 1F of the Terminal 1 North Wing and 1F of the Terminal 2 Main Building
Tips by Terminal
- Terminal 1: All lockers are charged per day. The staffed counters are on 1F and 4F of the North Wing and the South Wing
- Terminal 2: B1F is by time and 2F and 3F are per day, so the charging methods are mixed. The staffed counters are on 1F and 3F; the Narita International Airport Promotion Association on 3F stays open the latest at Narita Airport, until 22:00
- Terminal 3: There are only time-based lockers in 4 places on 2F, and there is no staffed baggage storage counter. For luggage that does not fit in a locker, you need to go to Terminal 2
Points to Note
- Prices, charging methods and hours may change. Check the official website for the latest information
- Lockers fill up easily in busy periods. The large lockers tend to be taken first
