Kansai Airport Guide to Connections and Moving Between Terminals
Reliability: Medium · Last checked: 2026-07-28
How to get between T1 and T2, and how connections between international and domestic flights work, with rough time estimates.
Moving Between Terminals
- Terminal 1 ⇔ Terminal 2: 7–9 minutes by the free shuttle bus, which leaves from in front of Aeroplaza.
- Terminal 1, Aeroplaza and the railway station are connected by walkways.
How Connections Work
- Connecting within the same terminal: Follow your airline's instructions. From an international to a domestic flight, you may need to go through immigration, collect your baggage and check in again.
- Connecting between T1 and T2 (e.g. international flight → Peach domestic flight): After entry procedures, collect your baggage, take the shuttle bus to T2 and check in again. We recommend allowing at least 2–3 hours.
Spending Your Waiting Time
- NODOKA (Aeroplaza 2F), open 24 hours, has showers and power outlets and is convenient for a long wait between flights.
- For a wait of a few hours, the observation hall "Sky View" and the Terminal 1 restaurant area are also options.
Points to Note
- With separate tickets, you often cannot check your baggage through, and making the connection is your own responsibility. Plan with plenty of time.
- The shuttle bus travel time is a guide. In busy periods, the wait may be longer.
