Reliability: Medium · Last checked: 2026-08-06
Where you can charge and work before boarding, and how to use the free Wi-Fi "#AirportFreeWiFi-Kansai".
In short
At KIX you can connect to free Wi-Fi with no sign-up in every area of Terminals 1 and 2 and Aeroplaza. Power outlets and PC desks are available both before and after security, and you can find them in the official website's location list by narrowing it down by terminal and area. If you need to be sure of charging late at night or early in the morning, NODOKA, open 24 hours, is the option.
Who this is for
- People who want to work on a laptop or charge a phone before boarding
- People who want to use the wait for an early-morning or late-night flight to get work done
Your options
- Power outlets and PC desks (free, Terminal 1): Before security, on the domestic departures floor (north and south), near Entrance C, near check-in counters B, E and G on the international departures floor, and on the international and domestic arrivals floor (south). After security, near domestic Gates 24, 27 and 40, and in the international gate area (center, North Wing near Gates 10–18, South Wing near Gates 24–31)
- Power outlets and PC desks (free, Terminal 2): Before security, in the public area (domestic) and the international public area; after security, near domestic Gate 95, near international Gates 301 and 302, and in the shop area
- KIX Airport Cafe Lounge NODOKA (Aeroplaza 2F, before security, open 24 hours): Besides power and Wi-Fi, it has showers and reclining seats. With a gold card or higher from a partner card company, you get 2 hours free if you show that you are flying the same day. Late at night and early in the morning, this is effectively the place to work
- Card lounges: With an eligible card you can use power and Wi-Fi. There is NODOKA before security and NORTH LOUNGE after passport control for international flights
How to Use the Free Wi-Fi
- Just select the SSID "#AirportFreeWiFi-Kansai" to connect with no sign-up ("#AirportFreeWiFi-Kansai2.4G" for the 2.4GHz band)
- It is available in every area of the Terminal 1 building (except part of the international arrivals route), the Terminal 1 bus stops, the railway station, every area of Aeroplaza, every area of the Terminal 2 building and every area of the KIX Observation Hall
- It is free to use
Notes
- The free Wi-Fi connection is not encrypted. Avoid sending anything confidential
- It may be stopped without notice for maintenance
- The official website gives no details of each power space's hours, number of outlets or plug types. Check the signs in the terminal
- There is no official information on power outlets in Aeroplaza's shared waiting areas. The place you can be sure of is inside NODOKA
- When it is busy, there may be no free spots. Avoid occupying a spot for a long time
- Rules on carrying power banks on board may change. Check your airline's information before boarding
