Wheelchair loans, booking assistance, free self-driving wheelchairs, quiet rooms to calm down and other support at Haneda Airport.
In short
At Haneda Airport, the terminal operators lend wheelchairs and provide assistance services. You can borrow a wheelchair at the information counter in each terminal, and if you need assistance, you can book it in advance by phone (03-5757-8111) or online. You can also ask at an information counter on the day, but there may be a wait at busy times, so arrive with time to spare.
Who this is for
- People who have difficulty walking or use a wheelchair, and the people traveling with them
- People taking elderly family members to or from the airport
- People who find crowds or noise hard and are looking for a quiet place
Wheelchair loans
- You can borrow one at the information counter in each terminal. The wheelchairs can be used all the way to your seat on the aircraft
- Large and reclining wheelchairs are also available
- If you ask via an information phone, they will bring one to where you want, such as the station or the parking lot
Booking assistance
- Bookings are accepted online, at any information desk and by phone at 03-5757-8111
- Phone hours are 5:00–24:00 for domestic flights and 24 hours for international flights
- Some of the booking rules changed on 2024-10-01. Check the conditions on the official site before you use the service
- For help at check-in and on board, it is easier to arrange things if you also contact your airline in advance
Self-driving wheelchairs (WHILL autonomous service)
You can use, for free, a wheelchair that drives itself once you choose a destination. Bookings are not taken; you use it at the boarding point.
- Terminal 1: in the departure gate lounge, 8:00–20:00
- Terminal 2: in the departure gate lounge (domestic), 8:00–20:00
- Terminal 3: in the departure area after passport control, 12:00–18:00
In all terminals it is unavailable from around 13:00 to 15:00 for maintenance.
Calm-down / cool-down spaces
Spaces where you can settle down when unfamiliar travel, crowds, other people's eyes, noise or light make you anxious or stressed. They are intended for people with developmental, intellectual or mental disabilities or dementia, and their families.
- Terminal 1: 2F departure gate lounge, 2 locations
- Terminal 2: 2F departure gate lounge, 2 locations
- Terminal 3: 3F international area after passport control, 2 locations
Accessible restrooms
There are 1–2 in the restrooms on each floor. Besides diaper changing tables, a multi-purpose bed and a changing board, they have an ostomate cleaning shower and sink, and an emergency button that alerts the disaster prevention center. Where one restroom has 2, the equipment is placed on opposite sides in each, to suit transfers from a wheelchair to the toilet from either side.

- Information counter hours differ by terminal and location. If you need one early in the morning or late at night, check on the official site which counters are open
